Abstract

Visoko radioaktivni otpad predstavlja dugoročnu opasnost za ljude i potrebno ga je na adekvatan način zbrinuti što dalje od biosfere. Trenutno se u svijetu razvija nekoliko metoda za odlaganje visoko radioaktivnog otpada i istrošenog nuklearnog goriva. Jedno od mogućih rješenja nameće se odlaganje takvog otpada u duboke bušotine. Nekoliko istraživačkih skupina aktivno radi na razvoju ovog koncepta, iako za sada ne postoji niti jedno aktivno odlagalište ove vrste otpada. Cilj diplomskog rada je opis koncepta odlaganja otpada u duboke bušotine i pregled dosadašnjih istraživanja.

Abstract (english)

High-level radioactive waste is long-term danger to humans and needs to be adequately disposed of from the biosphere as far away as possible. Currently, several methods are being developed worldwide for the disposal of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel. One possible solution is the disposal of such waste in deep boreholes. Several research groups are actively working on the development of this concept, although so far there is no active repository of this type of waste in deep boreholes. The main goal of the thesis is to describe the working principles of the concept and provide a comprehensive overview of the existing research.
