Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Abstract: Biogas is a mixture of several gases, wherein carbon dioxide and methane make up 90 % of the total composition, and there are also small quantities of hydrogen sulphide, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen. Biogas is obtained from anaerobic digestion process in the digester or it can be obtained by decomposition of organic substances in the waste landfill. In this thesis are described the dangers that can occur in biogas plants, the danger zones where biogas is obtained from the digester and biogas from landfills and examples of devices and equipment used for biogas plants. Potentially endangered areas must be classified as danger zones. In addition to the basic standard (EN 60079-10) for the area classification a series of five documents ICOP (Industry Codes of Practice) is used. The purpose of the ICoP documents is to provide detailed guidance on how to make area classification in biogas plants, taking into account for all relevant information on area where biogas can appear. In this thesis are given relevant equations and examples of zone radius calcualtion.
