Abstract

Fosilni energenti, unatoč energetskoj tranziciji, još uvijek zauzimaju većinski udio u globalnom energetskom miksu i predstavljaju vrlo bitan faktor u čitavom gospodarskom lancu. Stoga kretanje cijena fosilnih energenata na globaliziranom tržištu roba i kapitala ima ključan utjecaj na buduća kretanja globalnih gospodarskih i ekonomskih trendova. Europa, kao jedna od ekonomski najrazvijenijih regija svijeta, ali i kao regija koja je jedna od najvećih neto uvoznika primarnih fosilnih izvora energije, izrazito je osjetljiva na rast cijena energenata na globalnom tržištu. S druge strane, europski energetski sektor se suočava sa izazovima energetske tranzicije te se brojne europske naftne kompanije, suočene s padom rezervi ugljikovodika i rastućim tržištem obnovljivih izvora energije, nalaze na prekretnici svog poslovnog puta. Ovim radom je obuhvaćena analiza ključnih europskih gospodarskih dioničkih indeksa te europskih naftnih i energetskih kompanija u ovisnosti o tržišnoj cijeni fosilnih energenata i emisijskih dozvola u okviru EU ETS sustava. Radom je utvrđena značajna korelacija europskog gospodarskog i energetskog sektora sa kretanjem cijena fosilnih energenata na globalnom tržištu, ali i rastući utjecaj tržišta EU ETS emisijskih dozvola na europsku ekonomiju.

Abstract (english)

Fossil energy sources, despite the energy transition, still hold the majority share in the global energy mix and represent a very important factor in the entire economic chain. Therefore, the movement of fossil energy prices on the globalized commodity and capital market play a key role in the future movements of global economic trends. Europe, as one of the most economically developed regions of the world, but also as a region that is one of the largest net importers of primary fossil energy sources, is extremely sensitive to the rise in the energy prices on the global market. On the other hand, the European energy sector is facing the challenges of the energy transition, and numerous oil companies are faced with the decline of hydrocarbon reserves and the growing demand for renewable energy sources. Now, European oil companies are at a turning point. This thesis includes an analysis of key European economic stock indices and European oil and energy companies that are dependent on the fossil energy market and emission permits within the EU Emission Trading System. The thesis established a significant correlation of the European economic and energy sector with the movement of fossil energy prices on the global market, as well as the growing influence of the EU ETS emission permits market on the European economy.
