Abstract

U ovom radu će se dati teorijski pregled i primjena spektralne analize na zapise gibanja tla.
Spektralna analiza je disciplina unutar matematike koja ima vrlo široku primjenu u bilo kojoj
znanstvenoj disciplini ili djelatnosti koje se bave analizom vremenskih nizova. Teorijski dio obuhvaća
osnovne rezultate Fourierove analize, Diracove funkcije i funkcije češlja te autokorelacije i
konvolucije. Spomenuti rezultati će se primijeniti na filtriranje zapisa gibanja tla gdje će od
posebnog značaja biti Fourierova transformacija, funkcija češlja i konvolucija. Koristeći baze
podataka USGS-a (United States Geological Survey) i EMSC-a (European–Mediterranean
Seismological Centre) odabrani su potresi zabilježeni u zadnjih pet godina (magnituda većih od 4).
Zapisi potresa su prema epicentrima klasificirani u tri grupe: zapisi potresa najvećih udaljenosti,
srednjih udaljenosti i najmanjih udaljenosti. Na temelju odabranih potresa pribavljene su ASCII
datoteke sa zapisima gibanja tla (potresa) koje su zabilježile različite seizmološke postaje. Datoteke
se otvaraju u računalnom programu za obradu seizmoloških podataka, a nakon toga se na zapise
primjenjuju različite vrste filtara.

Abstract (english)

Abstract: The aim of this work is to provide some theoretical aspects of spectral analysis and its application to
analysis of ground displacement records. Spectral analysis belongs to mathematical sciences which
has very broad application in any other scientific area or practice that uses time series analysis.
Theoretical part of this work includes basic results of Fourier analysis, Dirac 𝛿–function and comb,
autocorrelation function and convolution. Topics in question will be applied to filtration of ground
displacement records and in this case Fourier transform, comb function and convolution will be of
special interest. Using USGS’s (United States Geological Survey) and EMSC’s
(European–Mediterranean Seismological Centre) online databases, certain earthquakes (recorded
within last five years and magnitude greater than 4) were selected and classified into three groups
respect to epicentral distance: the longest distance earthquake records, the medium distance
earthquake records and the shortest distance earthquake records. Ground displacement records
(earthquake records) are recorded by various seismological stations in form of ASCII files which will
be the base for analysis using computational software for processing seismological data.
