Abstract

U diplomskom radu analiziran je utjecaj nedavnog pada cijena sirove nafte na poslovanje kompanije koja se bavi transportom i skladištenjem sirove nafte i naftnih derivata. U radu je ukratko predstavljena povijest cijene, te njezin opći utjecaj na naftnu industriju. Predstavljena je poslovna strategija Jadranskog naftovoda (JANAF-a) kroz 35 godina postojanja, koja je detaljno opisana za zadnje desetljeće – za vrijeme svjetske krize i za vrijeme pada cijene nafte krajem 2014. godine, 2015. godine, te zadržavanjem niske cijene kroz 2016. godinu. Rad je predstavio osvrt europske i hrvatske energetske politike kako bi se bolje razumjelo okruženje u kojem JANAF djeluje, te poslovne politike koje je provodio i koje provodi. Poznato je da klasične naftne kompanije za vrijeme visokih cijena nafte ostvaruju veliku dobit i vrše investicijske cikluse, dok im je za vrijeme niskih cijena nafte poslovni opseg ograničen. U radu je prikazano do koje je mjere cijena nafte utjecala na poslovnu strategiju i poslovni uspjeh JANAF-a.

Abstract (english)

The thesis analyzes the impact of the recent oil price slump on the business strategy of a company which engages in oil pipeline transportation and storage, as well as oil products storage. The thesis presents the summary of the oil price history and its encompassing effect on the petroleum industry. The 35-year-long business strategy of „Jadranski naftovod“ (JANAF) is presented, with an emphasis on the last decade – during the global financial crisis and during the oil price slump in 2014 and 2015 and the continuation of low oil prices throughout 2016. European and Croatian energy strategy is also presented to provide an insight into the surroundings in which JANAF operates and an insight into the company's policies. It is established that oil companies thrive during high oil prices, allowing them to make large scale investments, while low oil prices limit their influence and investments. The thesis establishes the degree to which low oil prices affected JANAF's business strategy and success.
