Abstract

Nafta je kao energent postala pokretačka sila napretka društva u cjelini, postavši dominantno fosilno gorivo u upotrebi, čime je dobila na strateškoj važnosti, a njezine su zalihe, pogotovo one srednjoistočne, postale najvažniji čimbenik u energetskoj geopolitici. Borba svjetskih moćnika za kontrolu tih rezervi i puteva nafte očituje se i na energetskim tržištima zbog čega cijene nafte značajno osciliraju, unatoč pravilnostima ponude i potražnje za naftom. U radu su objašnjeni osnovni načini trgovanja naftom, analizirana je povezanost geopolitičkih čimbenika s padom cijena nafte 2014. godine, detaljno je analizirano kretanje cijena nafte od 2014. godine do danas te je objašnjeno kako su niske cijene nafte utjecale na poslovanje i kapitalizaciju naftnih kompanija.

Abstract (english)

As an energy source, oil has become the driving force of the society's progress as a whole, and it has become a dominant fossil fuel. As such, its supplies have become strategically important, especially those in the Middle East. For that reason they have become the most important factor in energy geopolitics. The struggle of world powers to control these reserves and oil routes is also reflected in energy markets, which is why oil prices significantly fluctuate, despite the regularity of supply and demand for oil. In this thesis, the basic methods of oil trade are explained and the connection of geopolitical factors and the decrease of oil prices in 2014 is analyzed. Oil price fluctuations since 2014 are analyzed in detail and the way in which low oil prices have affected the business of capitalizing oil companies is explained
