Abstract

Uloga prirodnog plina u svjetskom gospodarstvu postaje sve važnija. Prirodni plin će u budućnost imati važnu ulogu u smanjivanju emisije ugljičnog dioksida u atmosferu. Prirodni plin ima relativno malen utjecaj na okoliš u usporedbi s ostalim fosilnim gorivima, tako da se očekuje povećanje korištenja prirodnog plina u sektoru transporta i u sektoru proizvodnje električne energije. Prema izvješću British Petroleuma za 2012. godinu, svjetske rezerve prirodnog plina iznose 208,4 × 1012 m3. Kroz posljednja dva desetljeća dokazane rezerve prirodnog plina se konstantno povećavaju. Zahvaljujući primjeni novih tehničko-tehnoloških rješenja očekuje se da će se dokazane rezerve prirodnog plina također povećavati i u budućnosti. Predviđa se da će svjetska potrošnja prirodnog plina u budućnosti rasti višom stopom od svih ostalih fosilnih goriva. Doći će do povećane potrošnje prirodnog plina, dok će se udio ugljena i nafte u svjetskoj potrošnji energije smanjivati. Trenutno je trgovina prirodnim plinom koncentrirana u tri različita regionalna tržišta (Sjeverna Amerika, Europa, Azija), a svako pojedino tržište određuje cijene plina na različite načine. Obilježja tržišta pojedinih regija, dostupnost domaćih rezervi prirodnog plina, kao i različiti geopolitički interesi, predstavljaju ograničenja stvaranju jedinstvenog svjetskog plinskog tržišta. U budućnosti se očekuje značajan porast udjela plina iz nekonvencionalnih ležišta u svjetskoj proizvodnji plina. Uz to, povećati će se i obujam trgovine ukapljenim plinom. Očekuje se da će povećanje proizvodnje prirodnog plina iz konvencionalnih i nekonvencionalnih ležišta dovesti do veće ponude prirodnog plina na svjetskom plinskom tržištu, a povećanje ponude bi moglo u takvim uvjetima dovesti do smanjenja cijena plina

Abstract (english)

Abstract: Role of natural gas in the world economy is getting more and more significant. In the future, natural gas will play an important role in carbon dioxide emission reduction. Natural gas has relatively little influence on the environment compared to other fossil fuels. Therefore, an increase in natural gas utilisation in transport and electricity generation sector is expected. According to British Petroleum’s 2012 report, world natural gas reserves sum up to 208,4 × 1012 m3. During the last two decades natural gas proven reserves have been constantly increasing. It is expected that natural gas proven reserves will be increasing in the future, thanks to use of new technical and technological solutions and methods. In the future, it is predicted that world's natural gas consumption will grow at a higher rate than consumption of any other fossil fuel. It is expected that oil and coal share in world's energy consumption will decrease, while natural gas consumption will increase. At the moment, natural gas trade is largely concentrated in three different regions (North America, Europe and Asia). Each of these regional markets have different price-determining policies. Each region's market characteristics along with the availability of domestic natural gas resources and geopolitical factors, represent obstacles for creating an unique global gas market. In the future, a large increase in production of natural gas from unconventional reservoirs is expected. Also, there will be an increase in liquefied gas trade volume. It is expected that the increase in natural gas production from both conventional and unconventional reservoirs will lead to a greater natural gas supply, which will probably lead to a decrease of natural gas prices.
