Abstract

Tektonska evolucija područja Učke vezana je uz evoluciju Jadranske mikroploče, a koja se na
području Istarskog poluotoka može pratiti kroz slijed mezozojskih i paleogenskih karbonatnih i
flišnih naslaga. Gotovo 125 milijuna godina evolucije rezultiralo je taloženjem približno 3000
metara debelog slijeda naslaga. U ovom radu cilj je bio da se kroz terenska strukturnostratigrafska
istraživanja kao i analizom postojećih geoloških podataka izradi kompozitna
geološka karta područja te konstruira šest geoloških profila i preliminarni 3D geološki model
koji će poslužiti za interpretaciju strukturnih odnosa i građe područja Učke. Rezultati ukazuju
da je područje PP Učka formirano kompresijskom tektonikom krajem mlađe krede te tijekom
paleogena. U prvoj fazi tijekom mlađe krede i početkom paleogena došlo je do kompresije po
pravcu I–Z pri čemu su nastali Pazinski flišni bazen i antiklinala Učke. U drugoj fazi, tijekom
paleogena, došlo je do reorijentacije polja naprezanja te kompresije po pravcu S–J čime su
započeli navlačni procesi i formiranje navlaka Učke i Ćićarije. Po nastanku navlaka, krajem
paleogena, formirani su strike-slip rasjedi, ali je najvažniji proces bila intenzivna erozija kao
posljedica mehaničkog i kemijskog trošenja.

Abstract (english)

Tectonic evoluton of the Učka Mt. area is asocciated with evolution of the Adria Microplate
which in the area of the Istrian peninsula can be observed through sequence of Mezozoic and
Palaeogene carbonates and flysch deposits. Almost 125 Ma years of evolution resulted in
formation of c. 3000 meters thick sequence. The aim of this thesis, through combination of
structural and stratigraphic fieldwork and analysis of existing geologic data was to construct
composite geologic map, six geological profiles and simplified geologic 3D model of the study
area in order to interprete structural architecture of the Učka Mt. Results shows that area of the
Učka Mt. was formed through compressional tectonic stages that were active in late Cretaceous
and through Palaeogene. The first tectonic stage, during Late Cretaceous and Early Palaeogene
was characterized by E–W oriented compression that resulted in formation of the Pazin flysch
basin and the Učka anticline. In the second tectonic stage (through Palaeogene), study area was
affected by N–S stress which resulted in formation of the fold-thrust and nappe systems of Učka
and Ćićarija Mts. After formation of Učka Mt. and Ćićarija Mt. in the Late Palaeogene the study
area was affected by strike-slip tectonics and significant erosion due to mechanical and chemical
weathering.
