Abstract

Klimatskim promjenama i globalnom zatopljenju u posljednjih nekoliko desetljeća pridonijele
su koncentracije stakleničkih plinova u atmosferi. Ljudskom aktivnošću povećavaju se
koncentracije plinova od kojih je najznačajniji ugljikov dioksid. Europski sustav trgovanja
jedinicama stakleničkih plinova (sustav EU ETS), najveći je sustav za trgovanje emisijama
stakleničkih plinova i temelj je politike EU-a za borbu protiv klimatskih promjena.
U ovom radu opisan je način na koji djeluje sustav EU ETS i dan je primjer iz prakse industrije
aluminija, Talum iz Slovenije.

Abstract (english)

Climate change and global warming increase during the last several decades are a product of greenhouse gas concentration in the atmosphere. Human activity increases that concentration of greenhouse gases of whom the most significant is carbon dioxide. EU emissions trading system (EU ETS) is the biggest system for trading with the greenhouse gas emissions and is the baseline for EU policy in dealing with climate changes.
This thesis contains description of how EU ETS works, and contains the example from experience of aluminium industry, Talum from Slovenia.
