Abstract

Zapaljenje bušaće platforme Deepwater Horizon 20. travnja 2010. godine, kao posljedica erupcije iz istražne bušotine Macondo 252, rezultiralo je njenim teškim oštećenjem te potonućem nakon dva dana. Jedanaest ljudi je izgubilo život, a procjenjuje se da je kompanija British Petroleum pretrpjela više od pedeset milijardi dolara izravne i neizravne štete. Američka vlada i cijela naftna industrija shvatili su važnost provođenja reforme zakonske regulative i provođenja strogih inspekcija na platformama. Istražna povjerenstva koja su osnovana kako bi otkrila uzroke nesreće, složila su se da su niz loših odluka posade i neispravnost protuerupcijskog uređaja doveli do najvećeg naftnog izljeva u povijesti Meksičkog zaljeva. U ovom radu je detaljnije opisana zakonska regulativa prije i poslije nesreće.

Abstract (english)

Abstract: Drilling platform Deepwater Horizon caught on fire on April 20th 2010, as a consequence of uncontrolled eruption from the Macondo 252 well, got heavily damaged and sank after two days. Eleven people lost their lives, it is estimated British Petroleum had over fifty billion dollars costs. US government and whole oil industry realize how important is to implement legislation and enforce stricter inspection on platforms. Investigation teams who are formed to investigate accident agreed that series of wrong decisions and malfunctioning blow out preventers led to the largest oil spill in history of Gulf of Mexico. In this thesis the legislation before and after the incident is described in detailed.
