Abstract

Deepwater Horizon, bila je jedna od najmodernijih današnjih platformi, kao posljedica nekontrolirane
erupcije iz bušotine Macondo 252 smještene u Meksičkom zaljevu zapalila se 20. travnja 2010. godine i dva
dana nakon toga uslijed niza eksplozija teško oštećena i potonula. Osnovana istražna povjerenstva proglasila
su kompanije odgovornim za akcident i definirala osam ključnih nalaza koji su neposredni uzrok dotoka u
bušotinu, erupcije fluida na palubu platforme, zapaljenja plina i potonuća platforme. Ti nalazi odnose se na
nedostatke u mehaničkim barijerama u bušotini, cijelom nizu loših odluka posade platforme i neispravnosti
preventerskog sustava bušotine. Posljedica erupcije bušotine je potonuće platforme i jedanaest izgubljenih
života, kao i više od trideset milijardi dolara što direktnih što indirektnih troškova za kompaniju British
Petroleum. Bušenje u dubokom podmorju nakon havarije doživjelo je velike promjene. Postrožena je
zakonska regalutiva i pojačane su inspekcije na platformama.

Abstract (english)

Abstract: Deepwater Horizon, was one of the most modern platforms today, as a consequence of uncontrolled eruption
from the Macondo 252 well located in Gulf of Mexico caught on fire on April 20th 2010 and after two days
under series of explosions got heavily damaged and sank. Investigation teams that were formed have
identified the company’s responsible for the accident and had defined eight key findings that were the cause
of influx into the well, fluid eruption onto the platform's deck, gas ignition and platform sinkage. This key
findings refer to defects on mechanical barriers in the well, a whole series of bad decision making from the
platforms crew and malfunctioning blow out preventers. Consequences of the eruption and platform sinkage
are eleven lost lives, over thirty billion dollars direct and indirect costs for British Petroleum. Deep sea
drilling also went thru big changes. Legislation got stricter and platform inspections increased.
