Abstract

Proizvedeni prirodni plin često se ne može izravno koristiti jer osim metana sadrži i primjese koje je potrebno ukloniti. Jedna od takvih primjesa su i kiseli plinovi (CO2 i H2S). Kisele plinove potrebno je izdvojiti iz prirodnog plina kako bi plin bio spreman za tržišnu upotrebu (transport i prodaju). Za njihovo izdvajanje, osim konvencionalni metoda (apsorpcija, adsorpcija i kriogena destilacija), primjenjuje se i membranska separacija. Razvoj i primjena membrane za izdvajanje kiselih plinova traju dulje od tri desetljeća. Svaka tehnologija, pa tako i primjena membrana, pokazuje određene prednosti i nedostatke. Prednosti se očituju kroz niže kapitalne i operativne troškove, jednostavnost procesa, fleksibilnost i pouzdanost, dok se kao nedostatak izdvaja potreba za prethodnom obradom prirodnog plina. Za izdvajanje kiselih plinova najraširenija je primjena polimernih membrana u obliku šupljih vlakana ili spiralno namotane membrane. Osim polimera, za proizvodnju membrana, mogu se koristiti i anorganski materijali te njihova mješavina. U radu je prikazan i detaljno opisan standardni proces primjene membrana za izdvajanje kiselih plinova s naglaskom na razvoj i primjenu novijih membranskih sustava u okviru hibridnog procesa.

Abstract (english)

The produced natural gas often cannot be used directly because, in addition to methane, it contains impurities that must be removed. One of these impurities is acid gases (CO2 and H2S). The acid gases must be separated from the natural gas to make the gas suitable for market use (transportation and sale). Membrane separation is used to separate acid gases in addition to conventional methods (absorption, adsorption, and cryogenic distillation). The development and application of a membrane for acid gas separation takes more than three decades. Each technology, including the use of membranes, shows certain advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are lower capital and operating costs, simplicity of the process, flexibility, and reliability, while the disadvantage is the need for pretreatment of the natural gas. Polymeric membranes in the form of hollow fibres or spiral wound membranes are most commonly used for acid gas separation. In addition to polymers, inorganic materials and their mixtures can also be used for the production of membranes. The paper presents and describes in detail the standard process for the application of membranes for the separation of acid gases, focusing on the development and application of newer membrane systems in terms of the hybrid process.
