Abstract

Na širem području Benkovca nalaze se brojni kamenolomi u kojima se eksploatiraju naslage
benkovačkog pločastog prirodnog kamena. Kamenolom „Pridraga“ jedan je od takvih kamenoloma sa
geološkim značajkama karakterističnim za cijelo područje. Eksploatacijom se nastoji pridobiti što veće
iskorištenje stijenske mase u obliku tankih pločastih kamenih elementa različitih dimenzija pogodnih
za gradnju i oblaganje. Na tržištu je poznat kao benkovački kamen.
Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je prikazivanje temeljnih geoloških spoznaja o građi ležišta „Pridraga“ te
pokušaj iznalaženja mogućnosti za procjenu i povećanje iskoristivosti stijenske mase. U tom su
pogledu, uz korištena postojeća saznanja o građi ležišta, obavljena dodatna geološka te strukturna i
petrografska istraživanja. Obavljena istraživanja omogućuju bolje poznavanje petrografske i litološke
građe ležišta, te znatno poboljšanje i olakšavanje načina izračunavanja cjelovitosti odnosno
iskoristivosti kamena prilikom eksploatacije. Dodatni napori učinjeni su u pogledu mogućeg
odjeljivanja kamena duž „zatvorenih slojnica“ kako bi se povećalo iskorištenje stijenske mase u
ležištu.

Abstract (english)

Abstract: In the wider area of Benkovac there are numerous quarries where the reserves of the Benkovac natural stone are exploited. The "Pridraga" quarry is one of those quarries with geological features characteristic for the region. The goal of exploitation is to achieve the highest possible degree of utilization of the rock mass in the form of thin plates of various sizes suitable for stone construction and cladding. This type of stone is known as the Benkovac stone.
The aim of this thesis is to present basic information about the geological structure of the "Pridraga" deposit. At the same time, this is an opportunity to try and determine and to increase the usability of the rock mass. For this purpose the existing knowledge regarding the structure of the rock mass has been used. Also, the additional geological, structural and petrographic explorations where carried out. The conducted research ensured a better understanding of the petrographic and lithological material in the deposits and significantly improved methods of stone integrity and exploitability computing during the exploitation. Additional efforts have been made regarding the possible separation of stone along the "closed contours" in order to increase the utilization of rock mass in the deposit.
