Abstract

Hrvatska se zbog iscrpljenosti domaćih naftnih i plinskih polja suočava s problemom prevelike
potražnje za primarnom energijom u odnosu na domaću proizvodnju. Kako bi se riješio taj problem,
potrebno je intenzivirati aktivnosti vezane uz istraživanje i proizvodnju nafte i prirodnog plina na
području Hrvatske. Zajedničkim istraživanjem kompanija INA d. d. i MOL, d. d. otkrivena su
ležišta prirodnog plina na sjeveru Hrvatske. Ta su ležišta okarakterizirana kao nekonvencionalna,
što znači da je, uz sadašnje stanje tehnike i tehnologije, te uz sadašnju cijenu plina, proizvodnja iz
njih kompliciranija u odnosu na proizvodnju prirodnog plina iz konvencionalnih ležišta, te zahtijeva
veća ulaganja, jer su i izrada horizontalnih bušotina i hidrauličko frakturiranje, koji su nužni za
pridobivanje prirodnog plina iz nekonvencionalnih ležišta, relativno skupi. Dodatna prepreka
iskorištavanju ovih ležišta su i strogi zakonski propisi vezani uz zaštitu okoliša u Europi. Unatoč
tome što su rezerve prirodnog plina u slabo propusnim pješčenjacima i pelitnim sedimentima
potolina Mura i Drava potencijalno velike, potrebna su daljnja ulaganja kako bi se te količine plina
komercijalno pridobile.

Abstract (english)

Abstract: Due to maturity of domestic oil and gas fields, Croatia is facing a problem of increasing demand
that production cannot meet. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to intensify the activities
related to the exploration and production of oil and gas in Croatia. Companies INA Inc. and MOL Plc. made a research in the North of Croatia, and discovered deposits of natural gas. These reservoirs
are characterized as unconventional. This means that, regarding today’s technology and gas price,
gas production from these reservoirs is much more complex comparing to gas production from
conventional reservoirs, and it requires more investments, because both horizontal drilling and
hydraulic fracturing, which must be performed in order to produce gas from unconventional
reservoirs, are relatively expensive. Strict regulation and legislation on environmental protection in
Europe also makes these reservoirs difficult to develop. Although potential reserves of natural gas
in tight gas sands and shales of Mura and Drava Basins are vast, further investments are required in
order to produce economically acceptable quantities of natural gas.
