Abstract

Utiskivanje ugljičnog dioksida (CO2) u podzemlje odvija se u svrhu njegova trajnog skladištenja ili u svrhu povećanja iscrpka ugljikovodika. Pri tome je važno spriječiti njegovu migraciju iz utisne formacije prema podzemnim vodama i eventualno na površinu. Osim ekoloških prednosti skladištenja CO2 u podzemlje postoje i mnogi potencijalni rizici koji prvenstveno proizlaze iz istjecanja CO2 iz ležišta u koje je pohranjen. Kako bi se ti rizici sveli na minimum, potrebna je precizna procjena i analiza rizika i kvalitetan plan praćenja stanja okoliša (monitoring). U ovom radu opisani su procesi kaptiranja i geološkog skladištenja CO2, mogući rizici vezani uz to i metode njihove procjene, raspoložive metode monitoringa migracije CO2 te je dan primjer monitoringa utiskivanja CO2 u okviru pilot projekta Lacq u Francuskoj.

Abstract (english)

The underground injection of CO2 is carried out for the purpose of its permanent storage or enhanced hydrocarbon recovery. It is important to prevent the migration of the injected CO2 from the reservoir to the groundwater or possibly to the surface. In addition to environmental benefits, there are many potential risks, primarily resulting from the leakage of CO2 from the reservoir. Minimizing these risks requires precise risk assessment and analysis as well as a high-quality monitoring plan. This thesis describes the processes of capture and geological storage of CO2, potential risks and their assessment, available methods for monitoring CO2 migration and sample monitoring of CO2 injection in the pilot project in Lacq, France.
