Abstract

Geotermalna energija predstavlja održivu alternativu fosilnim izvorima energije te se može koristiti za zagrijavanje objekata ili za proizvodnju električne energije. Za iskorištavanje geotermalne energije potrebno je adekvatno izraditi bušotine koje će odolijevati uvjetima koji vladaju u geotermalnim ležištima. Prilikom izrade geotermalnih bušotina nailazi se na razne probleme; visoke temperature, niski slojni tlakovi, raspucane formacije i prisustvo kiselih plinova. Izrada geotermalnih bušotina usko je povezana s tehnologijama i opremom koja se koristi za izradu naftnih i/ili plinskih bušotina. Najveći naglasak je na korištenju materijala koji je otporan na visoke temperature i na kvalitetno izvedenoj cementaciji zaštitnih cijevi koja je od vitalnog značaja za pravilnu izradu bušotine. Nakon adekvatne izrade bušotina i značajnih kapitalnih troškova, slijedi višegodišnje iskorištavanje geotermalnog ležišta i mali operativni troškovi tijekom proizvodnje energije.

Abstract (english)

Geothermal energy is a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and can be used to heat buildings or to produce electricity. To exploit geothermal energy, it is necessary to adequately construct wells that will withstand the conditions prevailing in geothermal reservoir. During the construction of geothermal wells, various problems are encountered; high temperatures, low formation pressures, fractured formations and the presence of acidic gases. The construction of geothermal wells is closely related to the technologies and tools used to build oil and/or gas wells. The greatest emphasis is put on the use of materials that are resistant to high temperatures and on the quality of casing cementation, which is vital for the proper construction of the well. Adequate well construction and significant capital costs are followed by many years of exploitation of the geothermal reservoir and low operating costs during energy production.
