Abstract

Diplomski rad obrađuje i sadrži detaljan opis geoloških jedinica gornjo trijaskih dolomita
Žumberačke gore koji prekrivaju područje istraživanja te opis diskontinuiteta koji utječu na
stupanj razlomljenosti okršene stjenske mase te samim time i fraktalne dimenzije koje daju
informacije o prostornoj raspodjeli pukotina i dominirajućim setovima pukotina. Fraktalna
dimenzija je mjera kojom objekt ispunjava prostor. Analize fraktalne dimenzije su izrađene
na temelju interpretacije fotografija fotografiranih na terenu, pomoću računalnog programa
Adobe Illustrator CS6, a analiza i izračun fraktalne dimenzije je dobiven pomoću
računalnog programa Fractalyse, metodom ''Box – counting''. Iznos fraktalne dimenzije
govori i o stupnju razlomljenosti stjenske mase. U radu su rezultati 1D mjerenja
ekstrapolirani na 2D vrijednosti. Niže vrijednosti fraktalne dimenzije ukazuju na veći
utjecaj manjeg broja velikih pukotina, dok veće vrijednosti fraktalnih dimenzija ukazuju na
ujednačenu raspodjelu većeg broja manjih pukotina.. Glavni izvori podataka su bili
magisterij dr. sc. Tončia Grgasović te više znanstvenih članaka s temom primjene fraktala
na dolomitima. Fraktalna dimenzija može se koristiti i pri izradi diskretnih modela
pukotinskih sustava ako se raspodjela pukotina modelira s „power-law“ raspodjelom.

Abstract (english)

This Master thesis deals and contains a detailed description of the geological units from
upper Triassic dolomites of Žumberak Mountain that cover the research area. It contains
the description of discontinuinity sets which affect on the degree of fragmentation on the
karstified rock mass and thus on the fractal dimensions that give the information about the
spatial distribution of fractures and dominating fracture sets. Fractal dimension is a
measure of how fractures fill the space. Analysis of fractal dimensions are based on
interpretation of taken photos on the field. The interpretation is made by a software Adobe
Illsustrator CS6, but the analysis and values of fractal dimension are obtained by a
software Fractalyse, with a meted ‘’Box – counting’’. The value of fractal dimension tells
about the degree of fragmentation on the rock mass too. In the thesis the results of 1D
measurements are extrapolated into 2D values.Lower values of fractal dimension indicate
smaller number of fractures and higher significance of larger fractures while higher values
indicate distribution of more similar sized fractures throughout whole outcrop. The main
sources of data were the master’s Degree from PhD Tonči Grgasović and more scientific
articles with a topic about the application of fractals on dolomites. Fractal dimension can
be used in Discrete Fracture Network modelling if spatial distribution of fractures is
represented with power law distribution.
