Abstract

U metasedimente Radlovačkog kompleksa, smještenog u središnjem dijelu Papuka (Istočna Hrvatska),
tijekom završnih faza hercinske orogeneze intrudirale su subvulkanske bazične stijene. Prikupljeno je
šesnaest uzoraka bazičnih i metabazičnih intruzivnih stijena te sedam uzoraka okolnih metasedimenata.
Mineralni sastav i ostale petrografske karakteristike svih uzoraka utvrđene su polarizacijskom
mikroskopijom, a kombinacijom emisijske i masene spektrometrije s induktivno spregnutom plazmom
(ICP-ES i ICP-MS) određen je kemijski sastav bazičnih i metabazičnih stijena Radlovačkog kompleksa.
Dodatno, baziti i metabaziti su na temelju podataka iz literature geokemijski uspoređeni sa sličnim
magmatskim pojavama na području Europe.
Prema petrografskim karakteristikama bazične i metabazične su stijene klasificirane kao dijabazi i
metadijabazi, a na temelju kemijskog sastava odgovaraju kalcijsko-alkalijskim bazaltnim andezitima
kontinentalnog vulkanskog luka. Zaključeno je da su baziti i metabaziti Radlovačkog kompleksa
vjerojatno generirani procesima vezanim uz subdukciju oceanske kore Paleotethysa pod južni rub
Laurazije te je predložen općeniti petrogenetski model istraživanih stijena.
Alternativno, baziti i metabaziti Radlovačkog kompleksa mogli bi predstavljati krustalno kontaminirane
intrakontinentalne toleiitne bazalte čiji je postanak asociran uz inicijalnu dezintegraciju Pangee.

Abstract (english)

Abstract: In the late stages of the Variscan orogeny, hypabyssal basic rocks intruded the metasedimentary sequence of the Radlovac Complex, situated in the central part of Mt. Papuk (Eastern Croatia). Sixteen samples of the intruded basic and metabasic rocks were collected, along with an additional seven samples of the surrounding metasediments. Mineral composition and other petrographic characteristics of all the samples were determined by polarised microscopy, while the chemical analyses of the basic and metabasic rocks were carried out using a combination of inductivity coupled plasma emission and mass spectrometry (ICP-ES and ICP-MS). Utilizing the available data from literature, a comparison of the basic and metabasic rocks from the Radlovac Complex with other similar magmatic occurrences throughout Europe was made.
According to their petrographic characteristics, basic and metabasic rocks of the Radlovac Complex were classified as diabase affected by varying degrees of metamorphism, while the results of the chemical analyses indicate that they correspond to calc-alkaline basaltic andesites of active continental margins. Basic and metabasic rocks from the Radlovac Complex are presumed to be associated with the subduction of Paleotethys under the southern margin of Laurasia. Additionally, a general petrogenetic model for the formation of the investigated magmatic rocks was proposed.
However, an alternate geotectonic setting is possible. Basic and metabasic rocks from the Radlovac Complex may also be interpreted as intracontinental tholeiitic basalts related to the initial disintegration of Pangea and modified by crustal contamination.
