Abstract

Laseri predstavljaju potencijalnu alternativu ili pomoć konvencionalnim metodama dosezanja i proizvodnje naftnih rezervi. Laseri mogu oslabiti, lomiti, topiti ili isparavati litološke jedinice, a lomljenje je energetski najučinkovitiji mehanizam uklanjanja materijala. Primjena laserske tehnologije kod izrade bušotina i operacija opremanja je privlačna zbog više razloga. Takva tehnologija ima potencijal smanjiti vrijeme bušenja, može stvoriti keramički oblog na stjenkama bušotine, time uklanjajući potrebu za zaštitnim cijevima. Također, mogu se poboljšati proizvodne karakteristike bušotine upotrebom novih metoda izrade perforacija laserima. Ovaj rad pruža uvid u laserski sustav, eksperimentalne postupke te analizu podataka dobivenih iz različitih litoloških uzoraka. Korištene su kamere velikih brzina u svrhu snimanja postupka penetracije lasera kroz vodu te na posljetku i kroz različite uzorke stijena. Ispitivanja su napravljena na Nd:YAG i CO2 laseru, iako je u radu spomenuto još nekoliko vrsta lasera sposobnih za bušenje različitih litoloških jedinica.

Abstract (english)

Lasers represent a potential means as an alternative or assist to conventional mechanical methods of reaching and producing petroleum reserves. High power lasers can weaken, spall, melt and vaporize various lithologies, with thermal spallation being the most energy efficient rock removal mechanism. Laser technology applied to well drilling and completion operations is attractive for many reasons. It has the potential to reduce drilling time, create a ceramic lining, thus eliminating the need for steel casing. It can also improve well performance by applying new methods of laser perforating. This thesis will provide a description of the laser system, experimental procedures and rock sample data analysis. High-speed cameras have been used to capture the processes of laser penetration through water and eventually the rock samples. These tests have been done using the Nd: YAG and CO2 laser, although, there are other types of lasers capable of drilling through various lithologies that are also mentioned in the thesis.
